Quail Point Farm
About Us

Doug and Allison Horton have been married since 1981. Both have always been committed outdoor enthusiasts. In their early years together, Doug and Allison managed a horse riding program in GreenvilleCounty and frequently backpacked throughout the United States. Doug is also an avid bird hunter, hunting mostly quail with the help of his well trained English Pointers.

In 1991, they purchased their current home and land and established Quail Point Farm, starting out with merely five colts and one broodmare. Since then, Quail Point Farm has significantly grown, selecting superior outside stallions to breed to in order to improve the cow sense in good work and show horses. With the help of their close friend and trainer, Joey MacRae, who has been at their barn since 1997, they have produced several AQHA World Qualifiers, High Point Champions in AQHA and GRCHA, NRCHA money earners, NRHA futurity competitors, and earned numerous AQHA performance Register of Merits.

Doug and Allison still actively show in both AQHA and NRCHA events. Doug also competes at various USTRC events as well. They continue to breed Quarter horses to produce athletic, intelligent, and versatile horses that can perform at the top levels of competition.
